The modern jewellery company Messika was founded by Valérie Messika in Paris in 2005. The daughter of André Messika, one of France’s most successful diamond dealers, she was inspired to establish her own jewellery brand as an apprentice at her father’s company. This brand was based on the idea of using diamonds to create cool pieces of jewellery that could be worn every day and on any occasion. Less than a decade later, Messika employs over 115 people and produces roughly 6000 pieces of jewellery per year – Messika has become one of the world’s most innovative and modern manufacturers of diamond jewellery.
Today, Valérie is the only remaining businesswomen in France to run her own independent jewellery company. She is a pioneer in the industry and together with her staff she constantly pushes the limits of diamond jewellery design.
