Oris was founded in 1904. Since the management buy-out in 1982, the company has been owned by members of the administrative board and the company management. Back in 1985, long before the mechanical boom of recent years, Oris decided to focus exclusively on manufacturing mechanical watches. This strategy has remained unchanged to this day.
